Saint George Academy (SGA) is a co-educational, boutique, private Catholic high school located on a residential street in the East Village in New York City. It was started by the Basilian Order in 1946 as an all boys school, and continued as a coed school from 1968 at its' current location. SGA offers a warm, family-like setting, where teachers are compassionate and caring, and where students benefit from individualized attention. We cultivate the highest standards in academics and moral character development.
It is by design that Saint George Academy maintains small classroom settings where students benefit from real one-on-one interaction with their teachers. Our college-preparatory curriculum is designed to help students succeed in their university placement ambitions.
Saint George Academy students excel in their passions and foster new interests. We offer challenging and rigorous coursework at all levels and in all academic subjects. Our program allows each student to create an individualized path that helps them to achieve their goals. Standardized test preparation is part of our curriculum. Our teachers foster critical thinking skills through discussion, coursework and testing.
SGA students gain a strong sense of self and citizenship, and our graduates go on to become leaders in society.
