What Is the MYP?
The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) provides the educational framework for Grades 9 and 10 at Saint George. It is not a separate set of classes—it shapes how students learn across their subjects.
Through inquiry, interdisciplinary connections, and real-world application, students learn to ask questions, think critically, make connections, and understand why their learning matters.

Grades 9 and 10 set the course for everything that follows at Saint George. Through the MYP, students begin high school learning to think bigger—pursuing questions, connecting ideas across subjects, challenging assumptions, and discovering what they are capable of doing independently.
That foundation carries forward. In Grades 11 and 12, students build on it through advanced study, college-level coursework, deeper research, and greater academic independence.
The MYP may begin the Saint George journey, but it is designed for where our students are going.

IB Candidate School Statement
Saint George Academy is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy and a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of a diverse and inclusive community of students by delivering challenging, high quality programmes of international education that share a powerful vision. *Only schools authorized by the International Baccalaureate can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme or the IB Career-related Certificate (IBCC). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.
