About Us

Founded in 1946 by the Basilian Fathers, Saint George Academy has always stood for courage, resilience, and academic ambition. Originally created to serve the Ukrainian immigrant community that settled in the East Village after World War II, the school quickly grew into something larger: a home for students of every background who share the same qualities of determination, curiosity, and drive.

Today, Saint George is a coeducational college-preparatory high school that blends the timeless strength of a classical education with the opportunities of a global city. Small by design, our school ensures that every student is known and challenged — and that resilience and ambition lead to excellence.

Core Values:

  • Resilience: Rising to meet challenges with courage and determination.

  • Excellence: Holding ourselves to the highest academic standards.

  • Ambition: Encouraging students to think boldly and prepare for leadership.

  • Community: Rooted in the East Village, connected to the world.

Our leadership team and faculty bring decades of experience across education, counseling, and the arts — united by one goal: preparing students for success in college and beyond.

Every student known. Every student challenged. Every student prepared.
